MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAS) is considered one of the biggest entertainment in Africa.

Hosted in , it was brought into existence by MTV Networks Africa  in 2008.

Today we shall be listing the Nigerian Celebrities that has won this prestigious award.

And the no1 on my list is

1 . D’banj

The KoKo master himself has won the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAS) more than one times.

* In 2008 D’banj won the award in the category of Artist of the Year.

* In that same year he won the Award in the Best Male Category.

* He would also win in the category of Listener’s choice award for “Why Me”.

* On 2009 he would win the Award for the Artist of The Year for the second time.

*  In 2015 he was awarded another MAMAs award for MAMA Evolution  category.

Now that’s an ample lot of MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAS) for D’banj.

2. Ikechukwu

The Nigerian rapper also got for himself an MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAS) for the Best Video category for the song “Wind Am Well” in 2008.

In the same year 2008 Naeto C would win for himself an MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAS) for the category Best New Act.

4. P-square

The P-square duo is the biggest group out of Nigeria and they also have win the prestigious Award Multiple times.

* In 2008 they won in the category for Best Group.

* In 2009 they won again in the same category of Best Group.

* In 2015 they would win in the same category of Best Group again.

* While also winning an award for the Artist of the Decade in same 2015.

5. 2face Idibia

He is without doubt the finest musician out of Nigeria in contemporary times and he too, has also won the MTV Africa Music Awards on Multiple times.

* He won the award in 2009 for the category of Best R&B.

* in 2010 he would win the award for the category of Artist of the Year  and Best Male.

6. Fela Kuti

Although dead and gone, the importance and influence of Fela Kuti cannot be understated.

In 2008, he was posthumously awarded MAMA legend award.

The queen of the Mavin Supreme Dynasty headed by Don Jazzy also has the MAMAs to her belt.

She won the award for Best Female in 2014.

In 2015, my Nigerian Yemi Alade would grab for herself the award in the category of  Best Female.

Patoranking also have the award on his shelf, the Nigerian Celebrity won the award in 2015 for the category Best New Act .

The Mavin, made up of Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, Reekado Banks, Dija, Korede Bello and the D’PRINCE won the award in 2015 for the category Song of the Year for their song “Dorobucci”

16. Clarence Peter’s.

In that same year he won the Award for in the category of Transform Today Award by Absolut

17. Mocheddah

Mocheddah has won the award also in 2010 in the category of Brand New Act.
