Patoranking is of Igbo decent and goes with the names Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, born on 27 May 1990. And He is from Ebonyi State

Before becoming the artist we know today, he had started his career doing underground collaborations with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone.

In 2010 he became part of K-Solo Igberaga Records and from that stable released Up in D Club”.

But his career took an upward turn when he collaborated with on his song “Alubarika”.

In February 2014 he signed into Foston Musik, and he released a single that would change his musical career forever “Girlie O”.

In 2015 he would announce his distribution deal with VP Records on Instagram.

Early Life
Patoranking came into the world via his parents Mr and Mrs. Okorie in the year 1990. And grew up Ijegun Egba Satellite Town. But would later move to Ebute Metta.

Schools attended included Citizen Comprehensive College Epe, and later attended Jibril Martin Memorial Grammar School in Iponri.

Life as a musician started for patoranking at street jams and as a carnival dancer. According to him his major musical influences are Buju Banton, Bob Marley , Fela Kuti, Lucky Dube, Chaka Demus, Majek Fashek , Blackky, Blackface , Tuface and Marvelous Benjy.

The name Patoranking was given to him by a Jamaican artist he met at Alpha Beach in Lagos.


Featuring Qdot and Kbaj in May 2012 he released  a single titled “Oya Bisi”

The video and audio for Alubarika was released On 12 September 2013, shit by AJE Films and featured vocals from Timaya.

A song that would open doors for patoranking into becoming what he is today.

He signed into Foston Musik on February 2014. Leading to his departure from Dem Mama Records.

In that same year he would release the single “Girlie O”, a song produced by WizzyPro. With the video shot in under the directive skill of Moe Musa.

On 19 May 2014 “Girlie O Remix” was released with Tiwa Savage adding both vocals and sexiness to the song.

Like the other, the video was shot in London with Moe Musa at the helms of affairs.

On 1 April 2014 he was featured by Seyi Shay along side Shaydee on the track “Murda” which was produced by Dokta Frabz.

The video was directed by Meji Alabi for JM Films and was uploaded to Vevo on 11 May 2014.

In 2015 his two singles Daniella Whine” and “My Woman, My Everything” became chart toppers on the MTV base Official Naija Top 10 Chart.

“Daniella Whine” debuted at number 4 in may and went on to the no1 spot in June.

“My Woman, My Everything” stayed at the number 2 spot like hair on one’s head.

In 2016 Patoranking was announced as part of the judges at the maiden edition of the Voice Nigeria.

In that same year, his debut studio album was released “God Over Everything”, on 1 August 2016.

With the album featuring Phyno, Wizkid , Sarkodie , Olamide, Elephant Man, and Kwam 1. It debuted at number 4 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.
